As an early Christmas present, I found out that one of my pieces on Vietnam has been chosen for publication in an anthology of the year’s best creative nonfiction, due out next summer (I’ll post more details when they become available). As rewarding as a five-figure law firm bonus? That all depends on your point of view. But I will say this: a hollow checking account can seem far less desolate when you’re filling the days with work that you love.
