When I was a lawyer, obsessing over monthly billables and spending at least twenty minutes every night calculating how many more hours I’d have to average per day in order to make my quota and/or bonus, I lamented not being able to travel, just take off and leave, regardless of schedules, approved dates or number of accrued vacation days. Cue the “Well I’m not at a lawyer anymore (or at least, not a practicing one)” speech. So I’m off. For the next two weeks I’ll be in Southeast Asia visiting friends, exploring new cities and generally escaping my tiny experiential bubble. True, I’ll still have to feed the internet addiction – who am I kidding, I’ll probably be the one pacing the boat on Halong Bay, waving a laptop in the air and praying for a wireless connection. Hopefully one of the other passengers will then smack me upside the head and toss the computer overboard.

I thought about recruiting guest bloggers to post while I’m gone, then promptly forgot about the idea until last night at around 1:30. So I guess that’s extra incentive to blog while I’m traveling. If I can figure out how to do it (yes, I still remain pathetically web-inept), I’ll try to post some pictures. ‘Til then, be sure to check out all the blogs listed on the right – if I link to it, then it must be good.
